Our Candle Making Workshops are a fun and hands-on experience where you'll create your own custom scented candles from scratch.
We'll begin with a fun "Guess the Scent" activity before introducing you to the soy wax, wooden wicks, and fragrance oils we use. You'll then have the opportunity to create your own unique fragrance blends from over 80 different scents. Each candle can have its own custom blend, allowing you to experiment and create something truly personal.
Once you've chosen your fragrances, you'll pour your candles and learn about the candle making process. Workshops last approximately 2 hours, and you'll be able to take your finished creations home with you at the end of the session
Our Candle Making Workshop is a guided, hands on experience where you create and pour your own candles from start to finish.
Our Candle Bar is a more casual drop-in experience available on selected days. Simply choose from around 20 fragrances and we'll make the candle for you. It's perfect if you'd like a custom candle without taking part in the full workshop.
If you're looking for a creative activity and want to learn more about candle making, we recommend the workshop. If you'd simply like to create a personalised candle while browsing the shop, the Candle Bar is the perfect choice.
We offer a range of workshop packages starting from just £25 for one Classic Candle (180g).
Popular options include:

We offer a variety of packages, and the more candles you make, the better the value becomes. You'll find all available options on the booking page.
Our workshops take place in the dedicated event space within our shop, New Pastures Home, located at:
47 Commercial Street
Newport
NP20 1LP
You'll find us on Newport High Street, opposite Primark.
Parking
The nearest car parks are Friars Walk and Kingsway Centre.
There are also a small number of disabled parking spaces available on Hill Street. Free parking is available on Hill Street from 6pm, although spaces can be limited.
Our Candle Making Workshops last approximately 2 hours.
This includes around 15–20 minutes at the end of the session while your candles set and cool. Once ready, you'll be able to take your handmade creations home with you.
Terms & Conditions: Workshops & Candle Bar
Refunds are not available on any workshop or candle bar events.
If you are unable to make your booked workshop/candle bar, the date may be transferred to a different date if 48 hours notice is given before the start time of the event that you can no longer make (on management discretion). For private candle making workshops, a minimum of 7 days notice is required to rearrange the date.
In the event of a 'no show', the booking will be forfeited and no refund offered.
Full payment is required upfront. Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve places on workshops/candle bar without payment due to the demand of our events, and limited seats available.
For workshop bookings, one paying place admits one person only. Unfortunately we do not have the seating capacity to allow non-paying family/friends to attend. Therefore, if you wish to attend with a friend/family member, each person will need to book their own place. (This does not apply to Candle Bar bookings - a family member &/or friend can attend without having to make their own candle).
Workshops 'on the road' require access to the venue 90 minutes before the scheduled start time for setup, and 60 minutes after for pack down. Shorter setup/pack down times can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Management's decision is final.
